Shameless Plug
As the New-bee to the Mutant crew, I figured I’d base my first post on what’s been keeping me occupied outside of work these days. I’ve been pouring all my energy into my website (a seemingly never-ending process) So many portfolio sites are a collection of pretty images that I find myself constantly looking to push the envelope. Right now I use the Mr Right theme throughout. I’ve incorporated a wallpaper gallery and a soon to come ‘Mr Right Store’. I want to beef the ‘FUN’ section up a lot more because at the moment it’s only ‘MILDLY ENTERTAINING.’ What I’ve noticed though, is that the project is more therapeutic than anything else, a glorified self-portrait. As designers we focus on every little detail with our essential goal being to grab the viewers attention for only a matter of seconds. No one will ever sift through every nuance of mrwrightdesign.com the way I will. Even the witty wallpapers are primarily promotional throw aways. I can’t see many people downloading ‘I found Mr Wright online’ except for maybe some friends. But it’s showing the brand through a variety of applications and some fun promotions that hopefully will entice a client to say ‘I want Mr Right’ to help with my brand. For myself…it’s so much more. It’s my own creative therapy.
